I'm not dead...

Hey everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying the summer.  As you can probably tell,  I've been m.i.a for awhile as far as this blog goes.  Family, self-employment and actually trying to squeeze some play into the work has taken up most of my time lately.

However....I AM NOT DEAD AND NEITHER IS THIS BLOG.

Ok, maybe a bit dramatic...lol.

Just wanted to give all the regulars and those who may have just found Dusty Gems recently that I plan on starting up again.  I have plenty more Selected Sound gems to put up and once they are, I'll be putting up some select gems from other library labels.

Thanks for your patience and continued support of the Dusty Gems blog, I truly appreciate all the love.

Everyone have a safe and happy 4th and keep an eye out for some new Gems....very soon.

Peace,

SonDu

Great to see all the library regulars in the comments section and equally good news that Dusty Gems is not dead, long live Dusty Gems!

Would be great to hear some more electronic library gems along the lines of your wonderful Klaus Weiss posts! I am sure there are more library artists like KW around on Selected Sounds.

Look forward to your future posts.

The mysterious eight track from DJ Mitsu Mixtape 'Library Mix'

Hello!

Since 2008 I've been searching for this track (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdsNt4ZV7D8) from DJ Mitsu the Beats mixtape "Library Mix" without success.
So I've tried to ask Mr. Mitsu himself on twitter, and he replied me (https://twitter.com/mitsu_the_beats/status/308925690600906753):

@mitsu_the_beats check this one. http://www.discogs.com/Steve-Gray-Sound-Stage-14-Peak-Power/release/3286584

I've asked on discogs if this track was on this album, and an user replied me (http://www.discogs.com/reviews?release=3286584#c229211):

"It's not on this record, that 8th track in the DJ Mitsu-mix, even though the sound & production is very similar."

Another user, on "Library Mix" page on discogs.com told that the eight track was Peak Power, by Steve Gray (http://www.discogs.com/reviews?release=1733092#c228036).

Today I've found this album to download on Soulseek. Peak Power, by Steve Gray is a totally different track. I've listened to the whole album and the eight track by Mitsu is not there.

So, I'm here, begging for your mercy and help. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH TRACK IS THAT?

Thanks in advance and best regards.

Obviously, he is in fact dead. RIP

Yes, it does seem Dusty Gems is no more - but who knows, perhaps he has the the entire Selected Sound discography in FLAC and is just waiting for the right moment to unleash the rips on the world... Stranger things have happened... Or perhaps not.

Still, like all great blogs, they do come to an end - thanks for all the great rips, especially the Klaus Weiss treasures - the sound of the future past

Do you think!?! Hopefully, he is in fact NOT dead. Whether he decides to drop FLAC or not we thank him for all the good times. We sure do miss the goodness.

I can assure you all I am most definitely not dead, lol.

I apologize for my vacancy, the last few years have been a whirlwind for me.

I do plan on ripping more SS stuff soon, maybe even the FLAC versions people have been asking for. I don't have the full SS collection but I do have tons more that haven't been ripped or uploaded.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and for still checking in on the blog, much appreciated.
